Welcome to the North Mallorca Branch of the Calvia Lions
“To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson
Looking for ways to give back to our vibrant community here in the north of Mallorca? We are thrilled to announce that Lions International—the world’s largest service organization—has opened a new chapter in Pollensa, also serving the communities of Alcudia, and Sa Pobla.
We are actively seeking creative and energetic people to join us in helping those among us who need it most. In giving to others, you’ll discover the true meaning of community. And you’ll make lifelong friends while enriching your daily life.

What we’ve been up to in 2016:
Diabetes testing. Diabetes is a global epidemic. Today, 371 million people have been identified as having the condition. The International Diabetes Federation estimates that by 2030 that number will soar to 552 million. And this doesn’t count the hundreds of thousands—perhaps millions—of people who have the disease but don’t know it. What can people do? Get tested. It’s a simple and painless prick of your finger. The North Mallorca Lions have done a series of free diabetes blood testing in Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa, with great success (see photos below).
Buses to the Balearic Symphony Concerts. We’re fortunate to have a world-class symphony orchestra on Mallorca. But many people in the north of the island who would like to attend concerts find the logistics—driving, parking, driving home late at night—too difficult. As a way of supporting the Balearic Symphony while also giving everyone an easy way to attend concerts, the North Mallorca Lions runs a bus service for every concert. For a very reasonable fee that includes the ticket to the symphony, patrons get picked up in Alcudia, Puerto Pollensa, Pollensa, Crestatx, and Inca, and dropped off again after the concert. Come and enjoy beautiful music while making new friends!
…And much more to come!
